Early Days and Construction.
This layout started life as two 2' x 4' boards designed to connect into a larger modular layout at the local N Gauge Society area group of which I was a member.
On moving to a new location in 2002 and finding no local group to join the layout was redesigned as a standalone branchline to fiddle yard arrangement.
The Wild Swan book "The Wallingford Branch" by Paul Karau and Chris Turner has been the sole reference in the building of the model as very little information could be found elsewhere.

This shows the lift out bridge which hides the baseboard join.
The bridge is held in place by magnets and electrical continuity is provided by the pcb sections glued to the stream bank.
The boards are now in the process of being converted to a standalone layout. Note the original track bed that would have connected to the 4 running lines of the modular system. The boards were also reduced in depth from 24 to 20 inches (610 to 510mm)
